Vacations
The Vacations feature inside the Fudli Online Ordering System for Restaurants allows you to temporarily close your restaurant when you’re unable to accept orders.
This can be used for both short-term closures (such as unexpected breaks, staff shortages, or emergencies) or planned holidays where you know in advance the days your restaurant will be unavailable.
By using this setting, you ensure that customers are clearly informed about your availability, avoiding confusion and improving their overall ordering experience.
Pause Services (Immediate Closures)
The Pause Services option is designed for sudden or same-day breaks. For example, if your kitchen needs to close unexpectedly or you are only closed for part of the day.
How it works:
- Choose whether you want to pause Collection, Delivery, or both.
- Select a time period:
- Pause services for a specific time duration (e.g., 2 hours).
- Pause services for the remainder of the day.
- Enter a custom message to inform your customers (e.g., “We are closed this afternoon due to maintenance, please check back tomorrow”).
- Once saved, this message will be displayed on the front-end ordering system so customers are aware of your temporary closure.
Add Holiday (Planned Closures)
The Add Holiday option is best for scheduled breaks, seasonal closures, or public holidays.
How it works:
- Use the calendar to select your From and To dates for the holiday.
- Apply the closure to either Delivery, Collection, or both.
- Add a custom message to be displayed on the customer-facing ordering page (e.g., “We are closed from December 24th – December 26th for the holidays. We look forward to serving you on December 27th”).
- Save your changes to confirm the holiday schedule.
Best Practices
- Always add a clear, friendly message so customers understand why you’re closed.
- For planned holidays, update your settings in advance to avoid receiving unwanted orders.
- Use Pause Services sparingly for unexpected situations and return services to active mode once you reopen.
