Cash Payments
In addition to online payment methods, Fudli allows you to offer Cash Payment at checkout. This option provides flexibility for customers who prefer to pay in person, either when collecting their order or upon delivery.
To manage cash payments, log in to your Admin Panel and navigate to: Settings > Payment Gateways
Cash Payment Options
You can enable cash payments for both Collection and Delivery services, depending on your operational preferences.
Enable Collection (Cash on Collection)
- Allows customers to pay in cash when they arrive to collect their order.
- Recommended for restaurants with a high volume of takeaway customers.
- Ensures payment is received before the order leaves the premises.
Enable Delivery (Cash on Delivery)
- Allows customers to pay the courier in cash upon delivery of their order.
- Suitable for areas where customers prefer cash or where card payments may not be widely used.
- Requires couriers to be trained in handling cash securely and providing correct change.
Operational Considerations
When enabling Cash Payments, keep the following in mind:
- Cash Handling: Ensure staff and couriers are trained to handle cash securely and responsibly.
- Receipts: Provide customers with a printed or digital receipt confirming payment.
- Change Management: Keep sufficient change available for cash transactions.
- Fraud Prevention: Only accept payment upon order handover (not in advance).
- Record Keeping: Track all cash payments accurately for accounting and reconciliation purposes.
Best Practices
- Clearly display accepted payment methods (cash, card, etc.) on your website and within your restaurant.
- For cash on delivery, set clear courier guidelines to minimise errors and disputes.
- Consider limiting cash payments during peak hours if handling slows down service.
- Regularly reconcile cash transactions with system records to ensure accuracy.
